Google’s recent announcement that they were beginning their own Cloud Storage service called Google Drive triggered a storm of warnings from privacy advocates regarding the rights that Google was asserting for itself.  The worry was that by simply storing the file on Google Cloud, authors would be turning over full intellectual property rights to Google. …

Google Fools Itself Into a Great Idea!

Google and many other high tech firms are famous for their April Fool’s announcements.  It is kind of an unofficial competition as to who really has the most creative people, not just among tech firms but within Google itself. This year the Google April Fools announcement that is getting the most attention is Google Tap. …

shutterstock_3129805

Currently the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is accepting applications for new top-level Domains.  Top level domains are what goes ‘after the dot’ in an internet address.  There are two-character country code domains like .us, .cn, .ca, the long time familiar ones like .com, .net, .org, and .gov and a few that …

shutterstock_1869024

There are few documents that are more confidential than one’s income tax return. Consequently, one should reasonably expect that the IRS’s computer record containing details of each individual’s tax return would be secure. In a 36-page March 16, report, the Government Accountability Office (GOA) found that the IRS’s computer systems and the data on them …

A lot of comment, occasionally humorous, has been given to the job interview questions that companies use to gauge creativity, analysis, and other desirable qualities.  Managers often read and adapt these as they look for the right qualities in new hires.
